3 Tips for Beyond Burnout
Burnout is a silent epidemic that existed before the pandemic and has been made worse since.
When we are getting through our day’s demands and they start to exceed our capacity we have a problem. It’s easy in the constant juggle of life for burnout to occur.
In this post 3 out of my 28 self care tips from my Beyond Burnout Program
3 TIPS:
1. Reflect and reprioritise.
- check in with yourself and how you feel. Adjust your day’s priorities.
- Be gentle allow for slower days.
- Let go of what you can at work or at home.
2. Get out in nature to renew and rejuvenate your energy.
- Nature is soothing. One recent study showed that when people walked through grasslands they ruminated less.
- In a 2015 study when participants spent 90 minutes walking through grasslands, they reported ruminating less than those who walked through busy city streets.

- Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings.
- Research done in hospitals, offices, and schools has found that even a simple plant in a room can have a significant impact on stress and anxiety.

3. Rest and new.
- Don’t work through your fatigue. Create downtime in your day. Take leave if you can.
- Even with a deadline it is important that you take regular breaks to reset yourself, have a stretch, or do a meditation or some mindful breathing.
- Have a brain break- Listening to music or closing your eyes for a 5-minute rest to recharge.
- Make time for restful sleep.
