3 Tips for Beyond Burnout

3 Tips for Beyond Burnout

Burnout is a silent epidemic that existed before the pandemic and has been made worse since.

When we are getting through our day’s demands and they start to exceed our capacity we have a problem. It’s easy in the constant juggle of life for burnout to occur.

In this post 3 out of my 28 self care tips from my Beyond Burnout Program

3 TIPS:

1. Reflect and reprioritise.

  • check in with yourself and how you feel. Adjust your day’s priorities.
  • Be gentle allow for slower days.
  • Let go of what you can at work or at home.

2. Get out in nature to renew and rejuvenate your energy.

  • Nature is soothing. One recent study showed that when people walked through grasslands they ruminated less.
  • In a  2015 study when participants spent 90 minutes walking through grasslands, they reported ruminating less than those who walked through busy city streets.

  • Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings.
  • Research done in hospitals, offices, and schools has found that even a simple plant in a room can have a significant impact on stress and anxiety.

3. Rest and new.

  • Don’t work through your fatigue. Create downtime in your day. Take leave if you can.
  • Even with a deadline it is important that you take regular breaks to reset yourself, have a stretch, or do a meditation or some mindful breathing.
  • Have a brain break- Listening to music or closing your eyes for a 5-minute rest to recharge.
  • Make time for restful sleep.
